Are there any airports in Santa Fe, New Mexico?

santa fe new mexico
Quenby asked:

I’m trying to see if there are any airports in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Everytime I search for flights, all I ever get is Alburquerque.

How far is Alburquerque from Santa Fe?
Thanks!

It’s about a 53 minute drive from Albuquerque to Santa fe.

However sometime next year a commuter train is scheduled to open connecting the two cities with about a 30 min. travel time.

yes…there is an airport in Santa Fe (SAF)…but the closest scheduled air service is into Albuquerque (ABQ) about 60 miles SW of Santa Fe. There are shuttle buses that you can take between the two cities though.
check here.

Yes, there is an airport in Santa Fe. However, at this time there is only limited commercial traffic there. Within the next few months the terminal will open for more scheduled flights. I forget exactly which carriers will be involved, but Frontier springs to mind. Part of the problem is that with the ABQ airport so close and international, the demand for direct commercial travel into Santa Fe is rather low.

It takes about an hour to drive from Albuquerque to Santa Fe, and once you get to SFe a car isn’t necessary, but you’d probably find that it is convenient to have one. You can also take a shuttle from ABQ to your Santa Fe hotel/house, rent a car in Santa Fe and drive back for your return flight. Budget, for example, doesn’t charge a one-way fee for that basic itinerary.

As an earlier poster indicated, there will also be a train, but there are no plans to have a stop at the airport.
