dbbanjo asked:

Howdy,

Does anyone make a regular commute from Santa Fe to Albuquerque? If so - how bad is it? What’s the best route (Lol, or are there any real choices?)

Thanks,

Marc B.

Years ago I used to drive from Albuquerque to Santa Fe. I think it took me 1.5 hours to get there. I vividly remember driving up the mountain to Los Alamos. One road up, same road back. Scary place indeed.

Los Alamos has nothing to do with commute between Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

Most people usually commute from Albuquerque to work in Santa Fe, because housing is cheaper in ABQ. So you would in effect be doing the opposite of everyone else. So you’re already in the plus.

At the 75 mph speed limit, you can get from city limit to city limit in 45 minutes. In the morning, once you get in to Albuquerque you’d be hitting rush hour traffic… so depending on where your workplace is could take anywhere from 0 to 30 minutes extra. This is assuming you will work from 8 - 5…

To keep it simple everyone has always estimated a 1 hour compute time between the two cities, and that usually works pretty well.
