I know people who live there and they always tell me how warm it is there all year round. You wouldn’t need a heavy coat, just a light jacket will do. Have fun!

Albuquerque has been especially warm the last few Christmases, don’t expect snow, if it gets cold it might get close to 32ºF at night, but can warm up to the 60s during the day. It really depends on the weather pattern at the time, if there is a cold front the wind can make it really uncomfortable, but you still won’t need clothing the way you do in say… Michigan or similar northern states.

Santa Fe is 2000 feet higher that Albuquerque in elevation, so it’s generally colder, and will get more snow. During a good snow in the city (lately), they might get 6 inches. But temperatures usually stay above freezing during the day.

There are Christmas activites in Santa Fe and Albuquerque that take place at night (specifically The “Farolito Walk” and the “River of Lights”) where you will probably need hats and gloves.

But you really would have to check the long range forcast about a week before you leave for New Mexico, depending on the fronts, the daily highs could be in the thirties or the seventies… Typical New Mexico weather for ya…
